We offer 30 different cover materials such as imported bookcloth, handmade paper and bonded leather (see Binding Materials). Any of these may be used for cover treatments for books and clamshell cases. You may also mix cover materials to achieve a more personalized effect. In addition to choosing materials, there are several other cover options you might consider for the book / clamshell cover: windows, photo covers, stamping and dust covers.
There are two options for displaying window images on the hard cover of your book: standard or mounted. Standard images are repositionable; mounted images are permanently adhered. All windows are optional.
You also have two options for designing wrap-around photo covers: Photo cover images (which are giclee printed then laminated) may either wrap around the front portion only (as pictured below, paired with leather covers #20, #21 and #22) or they may wrap around the entire book.
The cover of your book and/or clamshell case can be either blind debossed or foil stamped. Stamping is accomplished in one of two ways: We can assemble short, 1-2 lines of text for stamping OR you may submit vector artwork sized at 100% for creation of a die, which can be used on multiple projects (such as your studio logo).
The finishing touch to an Artisan Craftsman book is a custom dust cover. Our optional dust covers are laminated to last and are personalized with your client details as well as your studio brand including logo and contact information.
You can design your own dust cover, or instruct our talented designers how you’d like it to look and we’ll do the rest!
